Ever wanted to learn to weave with real sedges rather than raffia? Then join us for this workshop with Auntie Leanne Williams! She will instruct us in the basics of weaving with Cyperus gymnocaulos (spiny flat sedge) and will have some plants available tor sale on the day. Delicious native plant teas will be provided so you can sip, weave and yarn.

Auntie Leanne is a Buandig/Booandik, First Nations woman who has been working and residing on Kaurna Country (Adelaide) since 2011. She has completed workshops with Ngarrindjeri Master Weaver, Aunty Ellen Trevorrow, and has delivered weaving workshops for community groups and events across Adelaide.

This workshop is funded by the Highways and Byways small grants program.

Gawler Environment Centre is funded by Green Adelaide.
