Upcoming review of GEC recycling services.

We will be putting a temporary hold on our recycling service from the end of July 2019, essentially to reassess the services we offer in the light of recent changes made by our partner organisations. Until 31 July we will still be receiving the following:

  • Mailing satchels: pre paid and padded satchels
  • Oral care products: toothpaste tubes and caps, toothbrushes, dental floss containers
  • Printer cartridges: mixed, inkjet and laser cartridges, toner bottles, fuser and drum units, print heads, waste hoppers/containers collectors and kits.
  • Pens, pencils and markers
  • Nespresso coffee pods

Please note that Terracycle have ceased to recycle cosmetic products so we no longer able to accept these items.

Batteries can be recycled through the Town of Gawler at:

  • Gawler Civic Centre, 88-91 Murray St, Gawler (please hand batteries to a staff member over the counter).
  • Evanston Gardens Library, 65 Angle Vale Road, Evanston Gardens (please leave batteries at the recycling station.

Mobile phones, chargers and smart watches can be recycled through Vodafone at 189 Murray St Gawler. 

The Gawler Environment Centre does not accept light globes or lead acid batteries.

Light Globes: Mitre 10 (Gawler Mitre 10 is located at 7 Adelaide Road)
Lead Acid Batteries: Scouts Recycling Centre – rebates offered
