Common name: Small flower mat-rush
Height: 0.3-0.4m
Width: 0.3 – 0.3m

Description: Hard greenish brown narrow leaves which form an open tussock/clump. Small flowers and seed on spikes in centre of plant. Don’t dieback at all. Separate male and female plants.

Growing, distribution information: Not common across region. Drought tolerant once established. Can live for hundreds of years.

Beneficial Attributes: Caterpillar food plant (rare white spot rush skipper); seeds are eaten by lizards. Attracts native bees.
