Would you like to hear all about a new grassland restoration project in Dead Man’s Pass Reserve in Gawler East and find out how you can get involved? Come along to this information session to find out more.
Gawler Environment Centre (GEC) and Gawler Environment and Heritage Association (GEHA) are teaming up to conserve and expand a buffer zone around an area of EPBC-listed remnant native grassland in the reserve. We will be planting tube stock of up to 100 grassland species known to be present in the area, now or historically. We will also be conducting overnight invertebrate monitoring sessions. There are volunteer opportunities available in planting, invertebrate collection and ongoing maintenance of the site.
(The invertebrate monitoring sessions are currently pencilled in for Thu 26 and Sat 28 March, if you are interested in these please get in touch with us asap on 0435 681 005 or coordinator@gawlerenvironmentcentre.org.au. Weeding and planting will take place from April-June).
This project is funded by Northern and Yorke Landscape Board. Gawler Environment Centre is funded by Green Adelaide.
